Once a wine and olive oil producing estate, Montebuoni's original stone buildings have been restored into cottages and apartments that recreate the feeling of an authentic Tuscan hamlet. Situated along the crest of its own gently rolling hill, Montebuoni has wonderful, picture postcard views that delight the eye in all directions. This place unwinds you in the beauty of it’s natural setting.
While taking your front row seat to view the sunset over Chianti Classico's most prestigious vineyards you can plan a day trip to Siena, Florence and San Gimignano or a walk to the nearby village of Lecchi in Chianti to soak up your new way of life. If you're feeling more energetic, you may take time out for an early morning run, swim or bike ride. Private to the residence of this resort there is a swimming pool, a childrens pool and astro-turf tennis court and it is car free with parking at the entrance.
The quaint village of Lecchi in Chianti is 4km driving distance from Montebuoni. However it is also possible to walk the 1.5km to Lecchi via a well maintained, hilly path. Also within walking distance is the village San Sano. The popular Chianti town Radda in Chianti is only a 15 minute drive away.

This apartment is situated in the beautiful Chianti hill country in the picturesque hamlet of Montebuoni. The location is superb but as with so much of rural Italy a car is essential for getting around. I enjoyed having an agreeably spacious and spotlessly clean place to myself and I would stay there again. However, there were some negatives that detracted from my experience, some of which can be addressed. When I arrived there was no hot water. An inauspicious start. Someone had failed to leave the switch properly on. There was no kettle to make a cup of tea. These issues were dealt with swiftly by a responsive support team. But I wonder is there a slip shod approach to overall maintenance/ comfort. The door to the shower was stiff. The dodgy lock on the door needed attention and I had always difficulty in making sure the apartment was locked when I left. On one or two occasions I gave up. A small coffee table would come in handy. There was a TV providing exclusively Italian channels - a surfeit of the shopping variety - and while one doesn't go on vacation to watch TV one might have expected English speakers to be accommodated with BBC or CNN to keep abreast of a volatile world. The towels, large bath towels and large pool towels were a plus though. Living in the UK ( the north of Ireland, actually ) I did have occasion to phone the apartment's representatives in London a couple of times before my trip and I got through immediately and had my queries addressed without any difficulty.There are numerous excellent reasonably priced restaurants in nearby villages and towns in which one can savour the uniqueness of this incredibly attractive part of Italy where one is made to feel very welcome. I ate out every night and enjoyed every dinner immensely. One knows in advance that a car is necessary and that is fine.
